Hope Changes Depression and Anxiety.
God is present in the midst of struggle. Learn more about the
hope that changes depression and anxiety through video stories
and scripture below.
Lord, you have examined me and you know me.
You know everything I do;
from far away you understand all my thoughts.
You see me, whether I am working or resting;
you know all my actions.
Even before I speak,
you already know what I will say.
You are all around me on every side;
you protect me with your power.
When my bones were being formed,
carefully put together in my mother's womb,
when I was growing there in secret,
you knew that I was there.
But when the kindness and love of God our
Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of
righteous things we had done, but because of
his mercy. He saved us through the washing of
rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out on us generously through
Jesus Christ our Savior.
Come to me, all of you who are tired from
carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from
me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and
you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is
easy, and the load I will put on you is light.
Give all your worries and cares to God,
for he cares about you.
Don't worry about anything, but in all your
prayers ask God for what you need, always
asking him with a thankful heart. And God's
peace, which is far beyond humanunderstanding, will keep your hearts and
minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.
And so I am thankful and glad,
and I feel completely secure,
because you protect me from the power of death.
You will show me the path that leads to life;
your presence fills me with joy
and brings me pleasure forever.
Seek your happiness in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart's desire.
As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water,
I truly am thirsty for you, my God.
In my heart, I am thirsty for you, the living God.
When will I see your face?
Where could I go to escape from you?
Where could I get away from your presence?
If I went up to heaven, you would be there;
if I lay down in the world of the dead,
you would be there.
I could ask the darkness to hide me
or the light around me to turn into night,
but even darkness is not dark for you,
and the night is as bright as the day.
He reveals mysteries from the darkness
And brings the deep darkness into light.
And we all, who with unveiled faces
contemplate the Lord's glory, are being
transformed into his image.
The Lord is merciful and will not reject us forever.
He may bring us sorrow,
but his love for us is sure and strong.
He takes no pleasure in causing us grief or pain.
I alone know the plans I have for you,
plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster,
plans to bring about the future you hope for.
Every test that you have experienced is the kind that
normally comes to people. But God keeps his
promise, and he will not allow you to be tested
beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you
are put to the test, he will give you the strength to
endure it, and so provide you with a way out.
Aren't five sparrows sold for two pennies?
Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by God.
Even the hairs of your head have all been
counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth
much more than many sparrows!
Look at the birds of the air, that they do not
sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet
your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not
worth much more than they?
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
